The issue occurs when a network device is destroyed, and multicast groups are scheduled for reclamation without being unlinked from the device's multicast hash table. This can lead to concurrent readers accessing freed memory, causing a use-after-free condition. The fix involves unlinking the multicast group from the hash table before reclamation.
