In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: staging: rtl8723bs: fix heap buffer overflow in rtw_cfg80211_set_wpa_ie()… (CVE-2026-64446)CVE-2026-64446 0 A heap buffer overflow vulnerability was identified and resolved in the Linux kernel's rtl8723bs staging driver. The issue occurs in the function rtw_cfg80211_set_wpa_ie() due to an unchecked memcpy operation that can overflow a 256-byte buffer by one byte when processing a crafted WPA IE of length 255. This overflow affects the supplicant_ie array in the security_priv structure. The vulnerability arises because the length validation in rtw_parse_wpa_ie() incorrectly passes crafted input, allowing the overflow. The fix adds explicit bounds checks to prevent copying data exceeding the buffer size. Join the discussion | GCVE Database | 07/25/2026, 12:31:36 UTC Added: 07/25/2026, 23:08:56 UTC |
