It involves an out-of-bounds access triggered when offlining a CPU in a monitoring domain, due to an empty cpu_mask leading to an invalid NUMA node ID query. The issue arises because the limbo handler reads RMID event values without verifying if the domain is already offline, causing unsafe memory access. The vulnerability has been resolved by refactoring the limbo handler to skip unnecessary RMID reads and adding safety checks in the RMID reader.
