The issue involved improper cleanup in GenDiskBuilder::build() where error paths leaked temporary gendisk and request_queue resources, potentially retaining blk-mq state after the tag set was dropped. The fix ensures proper dropping of the temporary gendisk reference before recovering queue data, allowing complete teardown. Additionally, the release path for Rust GenDisk objects was corrected to pair del_gendisk() with put_disk().
