In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: userfaultfd: gate must_wait writability check on pte_present()… (CVE-2026-64514)CVE-2026-64514 0 A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's userfaultfd subsystem involves improper handling of page table entries (PTEs) during writability checks. Specifically, userfaultfd_must_wait() and userfaultfd_huge_must_wait() functions read PTEs without holding the page table lock and misinterpret bits when the entry is a swap or migration entry, potentially causing threads to wait indefinitely. The issue has been resolved by gating the writability check to only inspect present PTE bits, preventing indefinite waits.
