In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: txgbe: fix heap overflow when reading module EEPROM… (CVE-2026-68440)CVE-2026-68440 0 A heap overflow vulnerability in the Linux kernel's txgbe driver was resolved. The issue occurs because the function txgbe_read_eeprom_hostif() copies more bytes than the caller buffer allocated by ethtool when the length is not 4-byte aligned, leading to an out-of-bounds write. The fix involves copying only the remaining bytes on the final dword to prevent overflow. Join the discussion | GCVE Database | 08/12/2026, 00:31:12 UTC Added: 08/12/2026, 16:12:25 UTC |
