A potential deadlock vulnerability in the Linux kernel's f2fs filesystem was resolved. The issue occurs when the f2fs filesystem space is nearly exhausted, leading to tasks being blocked for extended periods (over 120 seconds), causing system hangs or degraded performance. The deadlock arises in the f2fs_balance_fs() function during filesystem operations. This vulnerability has been fixed in the Linux kernel.
