The flaw occurs when processing short authentication frames from a malicious or malfunctioning access point, causing an unsigned integer wrap and an out-of-bounds memcpy. This can lead to memory corruption remotely during the SAE authentication exchange. The fix involves rejecting frames shorter than the required management header offset before copying.
