A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's net/sched subsystem involving the sch_taprio queuing discipline was resolved. The issue occurs when taprio's software path peeks a non-work-conserving child qdisc and then directly dequeues a packet, ignoring a stashed packet and causing queue length and backlog desynchronization. This can lead to a NULL pointer dereference and kernel panic during packet egress. The fix replaces the direct dequeue call with a call to qdisc_dequeue_peeked(), which properly handles the stashed packet and prevents the desynchronization and kernel panic.
