0

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's CPU hotplug mechanism was resolved. The issue involved cpuhp_invoke_callback() unwinding earlier callbacks for the same hotplug state when one instance failed. The rollback path reused the same return value variable, potentially masking the original error and making a failed transition appear successful. The fix separates the rollback result from the original error to preserve accurate error reporting.
