In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: target: Bound PR-OUT TransportID parsing to the received buffer… (CVE-2026-72084)CVE-2026-72084 0 A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's SCSI target subsystem involving unbounded parsing of the Persistent Reserve Out (PR-OUT) TransportID parameter buffer has been resolved. The flaw allowed an initiator to submit a malformed iSCSI TransportID lacking proper termination, causing out-of-bounds reads that could trigger kernel crashes (KASAN vmalloc-out-of-bounds). The issue affected the parsing functions that did not properly limit string searches and copies by the received buffer length. The fix adds explicit length checks and bounds the parsing operations to prevent over-reads and potential kernel oopses.
