In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tpm: Make the TPM character devices non-seekable The TPM character devices… (CVE-2026-72135)CVE-2026-72135 0 A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's TPM character device interface allowed out-of-bounds heap reads and zero-writes due to improper handling of positional I/O offsets. The TPM devices expose a sequential command/response interface but incorrectly permitted positional read and write flags, enabling an attacker to trigger out-of-bounds memory access. This issue was resolved by making the TPM character devices non-seekable, preventing positional I/O operations that could cause memory corruption.
