In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ocfs2: fix UBSAN array-index-out-of-bounds in ocfs2_sum_rightmost_rec [BUG]… (CVE-2026-72162)CVE-2026-72162 0 A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's ocfs2 filesystem code caused an out-of-bounds array access in the function ocfs2_sum_rightmost_rec. This occurred when the inode's embedded extent list had a corrupted l_next_free_rec value of 0 or exceeding the list count, leading to an invalid index and triggering a UBSAN panic on file writes. The issue was fixed by validating the embedded extent list upon inode read, rejecting corrupt lists before out-of-bounds access can occur.
