In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ntfs: avoid heap allocation for free-cluster readahead state… (CVE-2026-72202)CVE-2026-72202 0 A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's NTFS driver related to heap allocation for free-cluster readahead state has been resolved. The issue involved a temporary allocation failure that could cause callers waiting for the free cluster count to block indefinitely. The fix involves keeping the readahead state on the stack to eliminate the allocation failure path and zero-initializing the state. The same fix was applied to a similar function scanning the MFT bitmap. Join the discussion | GCVE Database | 08/15/2026, 06:32:15 UTC Added: 08/15/2026, 15:53:24 UTC |
