In 64-bit configurations, calling prom_printf() from kernel threads other than the initial one causes the stack pointer to be in a 64-bit memory segment, leading to incorrect stack pointer calculations by 32-bit firmware code and resulting in kernel hangs during early boot. The issue is limited to prom_printf() and does not affect other firmware entry points. The fix involves switching the stack to a 32-bit compatible segment when calling prom_printf().
