In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: SUNRPC: Bound-check xdr_buf_to_bvec() stores before writing xdr_buf_to_bvec()… (CVE-2026-72217)CVE-2026-72217
0

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's SUNRPC subsystem was resolved involving an out-of-bounds write in the xdr_buf_to_bvec() function. The function writes to an array without properly checking bounds first, which can cause a write one element past the end of the array. This overflow can corrupt adjacent memory with data derived from client-supplied RPC payload sizes. The issue was fixed by moving the bounds check ahead of the write operations to ensure no out-of-bounds stores occur.
