In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: nVMX: Move vTPR vs. (CVE-2026-72287)CVE-2026-72287 0 A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's KVM nested virtualization component involving the handling of virtual Task Priority Register (vTPR) versus TPR Threshold consistency checks has been resolved. The issue related to the timing and method of performing these checks, which could lead to KVM running a nested guest with an incorrect CR3 register value when Extended Page Tables (EPT) are disabled. This inconsistency could cause the virtual machine monitor to operate with a guest-controlled CR3 instead of KVM's intended value.
