In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: fix overflow in passthrough ioctl bounds check… (CVE-2026-72310)CVE-2026-72310 0 A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's SMB client was resolved that involved an integer overflow in the bounds check of the passthrough ioctl response payload. The issue allowed a malicious SMB server to craft a response that bypassed bounds checking by exploiting 32-bit arithmetic overflow, potentially causing out-of-bounds reads when copying data to userspace. This vulnerability was fixed by changing the bounds check to correctly handle overflow conditions. Join the discussion | GCVE Database | 08/15/2026, 06:32:20 UTC Added: 08/15/2026, 15:53:21 UTC |
