In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/mlx5e: Fix HV VHCA stats agent registration race… (CVE-2026-72342)CVE-2026-72342 0 A race condition vulnerability in the Linux kernel's mlx5e driver related to HV VHCA stats agent registration could lead to use of uninitialized data structures and NULL pointer dereferences. The issue arises because asynchronous callbacks may operate on uninitialized delayed work timers or agent pointers, causing kernel timer corruption or crashes. The vulnerability has been fixed by reordering initialization steps to ensure the work and agent pointers are valid before asynchronous callbacks can occur.
