In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cachefiles: Fix double unlock in nomem_d_alloc error path When start_creating()… (CVE-2026-72368)CVE-2026-72368 0 A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's cachefiles subsystem involves a double unlock of a lock in an error path, which can corrupt the read-write semaphore state. This occurs when the start_creating() function fails with -ENOMEM and the parent directory lock is released twice due to an unupdated error handling path. The issue stems from a leftover code path after a previous commit that replaced manual locking with start_creating() but did not update all error paths accordingly.
