The flaw allows a malicious client to cause large memory allocations by exploiting an integer underflow in DACL size calculation, potentially leading to resource exhaustion. The issue is triggered via malformed SMB2 security descriptors. The vulnerability has been resolved by rejecting DACLs smaller than the expected header size before processing.
