In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: ipset: Don't use test_bit() in lockless RCU readers in hash types… (CVE-2026-72436)CVE-2026-72436 0 A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's netfilter ipset subsystem involved improper use of the test_bit() function in lockless RCU readers for hash types. The issue was that test_bit() is a relaxed atomic operation without memory barrier guarantees, which could lead to concurrency issues. The fix involved replacing test_bit() with test_bit_acquire() in cases where operations run concurrently with add, delete, or garbage collection. This vulnerability has been resolved in the Linux kernel. Join the discussion | GCVE Database | 08/15/2026, 06:32:24 UTC Added: 08/15/2026, 15:53:18 UTC |
