A use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel's ALSA usb-audio MIDI 2.0 implementation was resolved. The issue occurs when MIDI 2.0 input URBs are started but a later setup failure causes endpoint resources to be freed without first stopping the URBs, leading to potential use-after-free in USB completion handling. This flaw was detected as a KASAN slab-use-after-free error. The fix ensures proper teardown ordering by synchronously killing URBs and draining endpoints before freeing resources.
