A use-after-free (UAF) vulnerability in the Linux kernel's mailbox driver for the MediaTek ADSP (mtk-adsp) was resolved. The issue occurs during device teardown when the SOF audio driver fails to initialize, leading to a freed snd_sof_dev object still being accessed by a mailbox client callback. This can cause a kernel crash due to accessing freed memory. The fix involves properly disabling IRQs during shutdown and masking IRQs between probe and client binding to prevent late interrupts from triggering the UAF.
