This issue arose because userspace could control parameters that influenced the folded pointer values, enabling recovery of sensitive 32-bit kernel pointer data. The vulnerability has been resolved by replacing the insecure XOR folding method with a cryptographically secure keyed siphash, aligning with standard kernel pointer hashing practices.
