A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's ext4 filesystem related to incorrect bit mapping for fast commit wait/wake operations on 64-bit systems has been resolved. The issue involved dynamic inode states residing in the upper half of i_flags, with fast-commit wait and wake paths using raw state values instead of the correct offset mapping. This fix aligns the wait key mapping with the state helpers for FC_COMMITTING and FC_FLUSHING_DATA waits.
