In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: fix UAF by restoring RCU-delayed inode freeing in bpffs commit 4f375ade6aa9… (CVE-2026-74363)CVE-2026-74363 0 A use-after-free (UAF) vulnerability was identified and resolved in the Linux kernel's BPF filesystem (bpffs). The issue arose from a change that moved inode cleanup from the free_inode() callback to destroy_inode(), removing the RCU delay on freeing the inode and its cached symlink body. This led to a race condition where concurrent unlinkat() calls could free the inode while another task was still accessing it in RCU mode, causing a use-after-free. The fix reintroduced proper RCU-delayed freeing to prevent this condition. Join the discussion | GCVE Database | 08/15/2026, 06:32:31 UTC Added: 08/15/2026, 15:53:14 UTC |
