In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: seq: oss: Fix UAF at handling events with embedded SysEx data The OSS… (CVE-2026-74388)CVE-2026-74388 0 A use-after-free (UAF) vulnerability was identified and resolved in the Linux kernel's ALSA OSS sequencer component. The flaw occurs when handling MIDI events containing embedded SysEx data, where concurrent closure of the sequencer port can lead to stale pointers being accessed during event dispatch. This can cause memory corruption and potential instability. The issue was fixed by extending the reference counting mechanism to ensure the event's resources remain valid until dispatch completes.
