0

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's BPF subsystem related to handling negative dentries in bpf_set_dentry_xattr and bpf_remove_dentry_xattr functions has been fixed. The issue caused a NULL pointer dereference when attempting to lock an inode without checking if it was NULL, leading to potential crashes. Additional warnings that could cause denial of service on systems with panic_on_warn enabled were also addressed by returning an error instead of triggering warnings.
