The issue arises because the driver's internal encoder structure was allocated with device-managed memory (devm_kzalloc), which gets freed prematurely, but the cleanup code still attempts to access it. The fix involved switching to a DRM-managed allocation (drmm_kzalloc) to ensure the structure remains valid during cleanup.
