In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: crypto: algif_skcipher - force synchronous processing on trees without… (CVE-2026-74578)CVE-2026-74578 0 A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's crypto subsystem (algif_skcipher) allowed asynchronous processing of cryptographic requests with a race condition on the initialization vector (IV). This could lead to IV reuse in CTR/stream ciphers, enabling an unprivileged user to recover plaintext from concurrent operations. The issue was resolved by forcing synchronous processing for affected operations, eliminating the IV race condition without removing asynchronous socket support entirely.
