A race condition vulnerability in the Linux kernel's memory management subsystem (mm/ptdump) has been resolved. The issue involves improper synchronization when performing page table dumps (ptdump) over memory management structures other than init_mm on x86 and arm64 architectures, potentially causing races with kernel page table freeing. The fix involves acquiring a nested mmap write lock on init_mm to prevent these races, ensuring stable and safe page table operations.
