A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's XDP subsystem was resolved that involved improper handling of cloned frames in xdpf_clone(). The flaw allowed clones that overran the skb_shared_info tailroom, potentially causing corruption of XDP return metadata. This occurred because the clone's linear area could extend into the shared-info area, which was not properly checked. The fix enforces stricter size checks to reject clones that do not fit within the required buffer size, preventing memory corruption.
