The flaw occurs when a module-only event filter is cached with a NULL match pointer if the module is not loaded. Subsequent attempts to remove a specific match from the same module pass this NULL pointer to strcmp(), causing a kernel crash. This issue can be triggered from userspace by writing specific event filter strings to the tracing interface. The fix involves checking the event_mod->match pointer before comparison to prevent the NULL dereference.
