0

A use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel's perf subsystem was fixed. The issue occurs when a sibling event is detached but kept alive, leading to a stale group leader pointer that can be dereferenced after the leader is freed. This can cause kernel crashes during certain ioctl operations. The flaw was addressed by promoting detached siblings to singletons and fixing related event state handling.
