In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: usb: ipheth: fix carrier_work UAF on disconnect ipheth_sndbulk_callback()… (CVE-2026-74677)CVE-2026-74677

A use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel's ipheth USB network driver was resolved. The issue involved a delayed work item (carrier_work) being re-armed after the network interface was closed and freed, leading to dereferencing freed memory. This could occur on device unplug or interface down events with in-flight USB bulk transfers. The fix ties the work scheduling to the interface state, preventing it from running after the interface is closed. No exploit primitives or privilege escalation were demonstrated.
