In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/ncsi: fix heap OOB read in NCSI_CMD_SEND_CMD payload length… (CVE-2026-74694)CVE-2026-74694 0 A heap out-of-bounds (OOB) read vulnerability in the Linux kernel's net/ncsi subsystem was resolved. The flaw occurs when the payload length field in an NCSI command is larger than the actual netlink attribute data, causing an OOB read of kernel heap memory. This can leak up to approximately 64KB of kernel memory. Exploitation requires CAP_NET_ADMIN privileges and a registered NCSI device, such as those found in OpenBMC on Aspeed BMC SoCs. The vulnerability was discovered by dynamic kernel fuzzing and fixed by rejecting commands with payloads extending beyond the data attribute.
