A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's aspeed soc LPC snoop driver was resolved, addressing a usercopy overflow in the snoop_file_read function. Concurrent access to a kernel FIFO buffer without proper synchronization on SMP systems could lead to an overflow during copy_to_user operations. This flaw could cause kernel memory exposure attempts and kernel crashes. The fix involves serializing access to the FIFO with a spinlock to prevent concurrent modifications.
