A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's ACPI processor_idle subsystem was resolved by marking certain Low Power Idle (LPI) enter functions with the __cpuidle annotation. This prevents function tracing or Kprobes from triggering RCU warnings during CPU idle entry. The issue occurs because the acpi_idle_lpi_enter() function is called after RCU has been disabled, causing ftrace instrumentation to emit warnings. The fix moves these functions to a special section that disables ftrace instrumentation along this sensitive path.
