A deadlock vulnerability in the Linux kernel's mt7615 WiFi driver was resolved. The issue occurred because the suspend function mt7615_suspend() held the mt76 mutex while synchronously cancelling a delayed work item (mac_work) that also tried to acquire the same mutex, causing a deadlock. The fix involves flushing scan_work and mac_work before taking the mutex to avoid this deadlock and to prevent mac_work from running over a suspended hardware interface.
