A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's dm-pcache subsystem was resolved where uninitialized cache segments could be handed out by the allocator. This occurs because get_cache_segment() scans up to the physical device segment count, but only a smaller number of segments are initialized, potentially leading to a NULL data pointer being used without checks. The fix bounds the allocator's search to only initialized segments, preventing use of uninitialized segments.
