A vulnerability in the Linux kernel ALSA pcxhr driver was resolved by ensuring mutexes are initialized before requesting a threaded IRQ. The issue involved the pcxhr_probe() function requesting a threaded interrupt handler before initializing the mutex lock that the handler uses, potentially allowing an early interrupt to access an uninitialized mutex during probe.
