A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's thunderbolt network driver (tbnet) was resolved. The issue involved failure paths in the tbnet_connected_work() function not properly clearing the login_sent flag, causing the connection to appear established when it was not. This led to repeated teardown attempts that could trigger warnings or fatal errors under certain kernel configurations and could result in improper resource release. The fix ensures login_sent is cleared on failure paths to prevent repeated teardown and stale connection states.
