A use-after-free vulnerability was identified and fixed in the Linux kernel's Open vSwitch (OVS) component related to flow mask handling during flow deletion. The issue arises from a race condition where a flow mask pointer is accessed after it has been freed, potentially causing kernel crashes. The fix involves reordering function calls to avoid the race and removing a redundant RCU read lock. This vulnerability was reported by Trend Micro's Zero Day Initiative.
