A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's platform/x86 hp-bioscfg component was fixed to address an off-by-one buffer write in the hp_get_string_from_buffer() function. The issue arises because the function allows a null terminator to be written one byte beyond the destination buffer when the converted string length equals the buffer size. This off-by-one write affects several fixed-size buffers used in this code path. Join the discussion | GCVE Database | 09/11/2026, 21:31:24 UTC Added: 09/12/2026, 00:43:19 UTC |
