Readest, an open-source e-book reader built on Tauri, has a high-severity vulnerability (CVE-2026-82642) in versions prior to 0.11.16. The vulnerability arises from insufficient sanitization of EPUB chapter HTML content, specifically allowing <iframe> elements with a srcdoc attribute to execute scripts. This can lead to arbitrary code execution via Tauri's IPC commands. Version 0.11.16 addresses this by forbidding iframe, object, embed tags and the srcdoc attribute in the sanitizer configuration.
