A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's ocfs2 cluster code was resolved involving improper handling of sleeping while holding a spinlock in the o2hb_region_pin() function. The issue caused kernel BUGs under CONFIG_DEBUG_ATOMIC_SLEEP, potential deadlocks due to lock order inversion, and resource leaks leading to unprotected heartbeat regions. The patch series reworks the locking and pinning logic to avoid sleeping while holding the spinlock and fixes error handling to prevent resource leaks.
