A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's RDMA/uverbs subsystem was resolved. The issue involved the legacy write() path dispatching through a uverbs_api_write_method without properly initializing a method_elm pointer in the uverbs_attr_bundle. This could lead to dereferencing an uninitialized pointer when malformed input triggers an error in validation code. The fix explicitly initializes method_elm for legacy bundles and ensures the handler function returns NULL if no ioctl method is present, preventing improper pointer dereference.
