A vulnerability in the Linux kernel RDMA/uverbs subsystem was resolved by adding UVERBS_ATTR_UHW to UVERBS_METHOD_REG_MR. The issue involved three drivers (mthca, irdma, siw) that have UHW data associated with reg_mr which was not properly passed through the ioctl interface. These drivers assume the user data (udata) pointer is never NULL, so failing to provide valid udata could cause a NULL pointer dereference crash. Although this condition does not occur in typical systems due to how rdma-core handles udata, a malicious userspace application could trigger the crash.
