A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's SUNRPC subsystem was resolved that involved insufficient length checks on RFC 4121 MIC tokens in the gss_krb5_verify_mic_v2 function. The function accessed token fields without verifying the token length, allowing potentially short tokens to be processed incorrectly. This could lead to out-of-bounds reads when a malicious NFS server supplies a short checksum token. The fix adds a length check before any token processing to prevent such issues.
